5 Perks of Registering Early for Your Mission Trip
Thinking of getting registered for a mission trip next summer but still not sure if it is the right time? Here are 5 perks of registering early that you should take into consideration.
1. Site and Week Availability
Some of our sites and weeks fill up faster than others. If you register early you can ensure that you will get to go to the site you want on the week you want. Not only that but you can plan best around your group’s needs. We know the summer can be busy with sports, vacations, etc. If there is a week that you know would work best for your group if you register early you are more likely to get all the spaces you need for that week.
2. More Time to Recruit
Do you ever struggle with recruiting students and adult leaders to go on your trip? If you know the dates and specific details of your trips it gives you that much more time to recruit them. You can host events to get students/adults excited and hold recruiting initiatives to encourage people to get others involved and sign up for the trip.
3. Parents and Families Can Plan Ahead
We all know how busy summers can get. If you are able to give the when and where details of your mission trip to your student’s families they are able to plan their summer around it. That way it can help prevent the overlap that vacations and summer camps can sometimes have with the dates of your trip.
4. Travel Will Be Cheaper
Do you need to fly to your mission trip location? If so you can save so much money by booking your airline tickets early. If you know your travel dates you can jump online and watching ticket prices to know when to purchase so you are getting the most bang for your buck. Booking your travel early also takes the stress out of knowing you still need to take care of the travel details and gives you space to plan the other important parts of your trip.
5. Plenty of Time to Fundraise
Mission trips cost money and good fundraising events/campaigns can help take care of the costs of the trip. If you know when and where you will be going for your mission trip you can calculate the actual cost of your trip and know how much you need to fundraise. The earlier you are able to do this the more time you have to plan fundraising events and spread them out throughout the school year so they aren’t all last minute.
