Days of Gratitude
We have a lot to be thankful for so every day we have been posting someone we are thankful for here at YouthWorks on our social media. Here’s just a few people we are thankful for. Be sure to check out all of the Days of Gratitude posts on our Facebook page.
We’re thankful for our many great church partnerships, like First United Church of Christ in Green Bay. Aside from being our one and only housing partner for our entire history in Green Bay, FUCC has gone on eight YouthWorks trips dating all the way back to 2000. Over the course of these trips, they’ve traveled across six states and THREE countries. Both Lori, Pastor Bob and numerous of their youth have been long time friends and supporters of ours and will be joining us this summer for their ninth trip to Appalachian Mountains-Lincoln County. Thank You First United Church of Christ!
We’re thankful for Father Jim Antoine! Father Jim is the priest at Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church in Lodge Grass, Montana. The Crow YouthWorks site has stayed at his church for the entire 17 years we have been in the community! Father Jim has been there from the beginning. He is always hospitable to our staff and participants. Father Jim truly cares about his community and finds ways to give employment opportunities to community members or reach out to people whenever he can. We are so grateful we get to partner with him and his church! This picture is Father Jim with Dennis and his wife, members of Our Lady of Loretto, and the 2008 YouthWorks staff.
YouthWorks summers have often shaped and deeply impacted the lives of the 350+ staff who serve with us . Through the partnership of Mission Extension Grant, more than 10 alumni have relocated to the communities where they have served, spanning small towns, American Indian Reservations, and urban areas across the U.S. and Canada. We are thankful for all of our alumni who have allowed communities to become their home, and moved back in hopes to continue in deeper learning, strengthening relationships, and living missionally.
