Celebrating John Potts

Few people have influenced YouthWorks to the degree that John Potts has. John’s extraordinary example of Christ-centered, servant-hearted leadership has directly impacted the thousands of staff who have worked for YouthWorks and also affected the many teenagers, churches and families that go on our trips each year.

John is well-known for instructing our summer staff each year to “Point to the cross and duck. Point to the cross and get out of the way, so that Jesus can work in the lives of teenagers.” This is a set of instructions that John not only believes but lives out in all areas of his work.

Today we are announcing that our beloved COO of Real Resources (YouthWorks’ parent company), John Potts, will be moving on from YouthWorks at the end of April.

Today we were joined by a lot of YouthWorks friends as we celebrated John’s many years of service at YouthWorks and Real Resources.

During John’s leadership at YouthWorks and Real Resources, we have experienced a tremendous amount growth. His commitment to excellence in ministry is evident. John has greatly affected the direction of YouthWorks and, as an organization, we are indebted to his commitment throughout the years.

Today, we are sending off a good friend who has faithfully walked alongside and led YouthWorks, and send offs are always hard. But we are also celebrating. We are celebrating the work God has done during the many years of John’s leadership.
