Overview
In Kansas City your group will serve on both sides of the state line alongside organizations providing basic needs for community members. Service opportunities may include maintaining community gardens or assisting at local community kitchens and food pantries. During free time groups can spend time exploring the city’s many historical landmarks, visiting the Negro League Baseball Museum, or grabbing some famous Kansas City barbecue. YouthWorks has partnered with this community since 2008.

Participants may serve all or part of their time at a food pantry, youth summer school program, clothing distribution center, or working on an urban farm. Groups have the opportunity to eat at one of Kansas City's famous barbecue spots.
Groups have the option one night to eat at one of Kansas City's famous BBQ spots.
