Overview

Your group will experience the great beauty of both nature and community in the scenic small towns that surround the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. By serving through working with children, painting, yard work, and supporting local ministries, you’ll make connections with the people of the area. During your free time, your group could explore the great outdoors via the parks and trails of the area. YouthWorks has served in North Carolina since 2006 but moved the Blue Ridge site to Rutherford County, NC in summer 2021.

Partner with local organizations to meet ongoing community needs by serving at food pantries, clothing distribution centers, meal centers, or local youth programs.

Service opportunities may also include community beautification projects such as gardening, painting, yard work, and assisting with simple hands-on projects.

During the week, students may serve at one or more of the service options by switching mid-week between service partnerships and minor home repair projects.

Since some partnerships are in rural areas of Blue Ridge, groups may drive up to 45 minutes for service or activities following the service day.
