Overview

During your time in Charleston your group will get to know the people, history, and culture of West Virginia’s capital city firsthand. You’ll build meaningful relationships as you serve alongside organizations supporting neighbors in recovery, those experiencing homelessness, and individuals facing food insecurity, through various projects and tasks, including hands-on minor repair projects. During free time your group can worship with a local congregation, explore historic downtown, or enjoy one of the area’s nearby parks. YouthWorks has partnered with this community since 2001.

Participants may serve all or part of their trip at a food pantry, clothing distribution center, family shelter, assisting with children's programming during the summer, or helping with community gardens.
