Bay Area, CA
- Custom Trips: High School and Up
Join local organizations in the Bay Area as they work alongside neighbors experiencing homelessness and food insecurity combating the effects of poverty and building meaningful connections across the community.
Overview
In the Bay Area, your group will partner with social service organizations that walk closely with neighbors experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, displacement, and the ongoing effects of poverty. Whether packing boxes at a food distribution center, serving meals, or offering a meaningful connection to a community member, your group will support partners meeting real and ongoing needs. During free time, you can explore San Francisco, relax in one of the many local parks, or experience the rich culture of the Bay Area. YouthWorks has partnered with this community since 2004.

Participants may serve all or part of their trip assisting at a food pantry or meal center, or they may spend time at an elderly care center playing games with the seniors.
Groups should plan for an additional $20-$30 per vehicle to cover the cost of parking when visiting locations during free time.
Customize the experience to the needs of your group.
Due to high traffic congestion in the Bay Area, your group can expect to experience long drive times to some service sites, shower locations, or Community Activities.
While 12-passenger vans are permitted at this site, 7-passenger minivans will make driving and parking significantly easier. 15-passenger vans are highly discouraged and will have limited parking options throughout the city limits.
