Our Approach to Unity
Christian Unity
YouthWorks intentionally operates as a multi-denominational organization and we invite people from every Christian denomination to join us. In our 30+ year history, we’ve connected churches from over 150 denominations to Christ-centered service and mission experiences. We acknowledge that this is difficult in a polarized social and political landscape, but we continue to see the value and beauty of coming together to serve in the name of Jesus.
How this impacts what we do:
The people you encounter
We want to emphasize that while you are on a YouthWorks trip, you may be exposed to Christian practices, theological, doctrinal and spiritual beliefs from our community partners, church partners, and those you’re serving alongside which could be very different from yours. We believe these encounters can be turned into teachable moments for your group, and we’re intentional about creating space for those moments to happen.
The content you'll experience
We partner with a diverse, multi-denominational team of leaders and pastors to develop devotional journals, teaching sessions, and other resources we share. Our content emphasizes the person and work of Jesus and his call to love our neighbors. We focus our messages on these core teachings of the Christian faith, and believe that other secondary doctrine is best taught in your specific church context.
We hold to and focus on the core tenants of the Christian faith as expressed in the Apostle’s Creed:
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
Genesis 1:1; Isaiah 44:6; John 1:3; Acts 14:15
