About Alamosa

In Alamosa, you’ll experience the beauty of the mountains and a small town community and learn about the struggle of rural life in Southern Colorado. Your group will come alongside existing organizations to meet ongoing needs, including working in gardens and farms to assist with food sustainability, and weeding for local homeowners. During the evenings, you’ll learn more the local history of the San Luis Valley, explore the natural beauty of this area, and visit the Great Sand Dunes National Park. YouthWorks partnered with this community for a few years in the mid 2000s and returned for summer 2021.

Please note: All information regarding service and community engagement activities are subject to change. We are actively working to identify community engagement and service opportunities in consideration of COVID.
